Legendary Hollywood Music composer James Horner is feared dead.
James Horner, 61, had reportedly been flying his own single-engine plane
Monday; it was found to have crashed in an area some 60 miles from Santa
Barbara.
James Horner is known for his unforgettable music scores in films like A Beautiful Mind, Titanic, Braveheart, Troy and Apollo 13 and Avatar. Horner composed music for over 100 films. Horner's score for Titanic is the best selling orchestral film soundtrack of all time selling approximately 30 million copies. He won two academy awards for the same movie.
Horner, who was born in 1953, started piano lessons aged five and
went on to study at London's Royal College of Music before moving to
California in the 70s. He went on to study music theory and composition,
achieving a bachelor's degree, master's degree and PhD, scoring student
films as a sideline.
Horner was an accomplished concert hall composer before he moved into
writing film scores. His first major film score was for the 1979 film The Lady in Red, but his first break came with the score for
1982's Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan, and he went on to work with some
of the biggest directors like George Lucas, Steven
Spielberg, James Cameron, Ron Howard and Oliver Stone.
His music uplifted the films and made the audience to engage more with film by evoking their different emotions. 'A Beautiful Mind' theme is one of the best and it is my all time favourite. no need to talk about Titanic. you can feel it just by the mention of it. most of his scores have that magic of music.
It is unfortunate that he died like this. it is great loss to music and film industry. My deep condolence to his family members.
He will live among us through his evergreen music. Good bye James
Rest in Peace
