Kavinyar Vaali - End of an era

 

Tamil cinemas most celebrated and respected, My favourite Tamil lyricist and poet Vaali [ TS Rangarajan], who was undergoing treatment for a respiratory illness at a hospital in Chennai, died today. He was 81.

Vaali wrote more than 10,000 Tamil songs in a career spanning over six decades.

His lyrics played a immense role in the popularity of MGR.

He had worked with the legends like M.S.Viswanathan, Ilayaraja and A R Rehman and many other young musicians, producing some extraordinary songs

His magical lyrics attracted different generations. I dont think any
other lyricist was able to attaract the people belongs to different generations.

he understand the pulse of youth . that made him to write the songs like mukkala mukkabala from kadalan ,
"Mustafa Mustafa"and all songs from Kadal desam
"Secret of Success" ,"Maro Maro ("Break The Rules")" from boys
"Maya Machindra" from Indian, were the few to name.

He wrote lot of evergreen songs for kamal hasan in the movies Nayagan, Devar magan, Apporva sagotharargal, Dasavatharam and many more. He was about to write a song in upcoming Viswaroopam 2 also.

Vaali sir's Charishma and energy attracted me very much as his lyrics did.
for me he is one of the few people I highly adore.

He is immortal. His legacy lives on.
