Pearl Jam Black Lyrics

Pearl Jam Black : Black is one of my favorite and the most famous song by the band Pearl Jam. Pearl Jam is an American rock band, formed in Seattle, Washington, in 1990. One of the key bands of the grunge movement in the early 1990's, Pearl Jam is considered as one of the most influential bands.

The song black is fifth track on the band's debut album, Ten which was released in 1991. music for the song was written by guitarist Stone Gossard and the lyrics were written by vocalist Eddie Vedder who is also the singer of this song.

Black is one such song that will make you emotional and make your heart heavy with the memories of your lost love.

There has been some rumors that this song is about a girl who has an abortion without telling her boyfriend, I'm not sure about that but as far as I have understood the song is about a guy who lost is love. it is about the broken relationship. it is about the pain of separation.

The music and lyrics of the song will stir our souls and especially if you had an experience of loosing your love, this song will definitely make you cry. the lyrics are so raw and powerful and the soulful rendering of Eddie Vedder takes the song to whole new level along with your emotion and leaves you there for sometime in a state from which you can't comeback with out feeling the pain.

the song starts a cool breeze and ends a emotional storm leaving heart in pieces. a great song by pearl jam. black is my all time favorite song. I love Eddie Vedder who is one of the great singer and a lyricist.

lets see and feel the lyrics of the song..

Sheets of empty canvas, untouched sheets of clay
Were laid spread out before me as her body once did.
All of five horizons revolved around her soul as the earth to the sun
Now the air I tasted and breathed has taken a turn

Ooh, and all I taught her was everything
Ooh, I know she gave me all that she was
And now my bitter hands chafe beneath the clouds of what was everything.
Oh, the pictures have all been washed in black, tattooed everything...

I take a walk outside, I'm surrounded by some kids at play
I can feel their laughter, so why do I sear?
Oh, and twisted thoughts that spin round my head, I'm spinning, oh,
I'm spinning, how quick the sun can drop away

And now my bitter hands cradle broken glass of what was everything
All the pictures have all been washed in black, tattooed everything...
All the love gone bad turned my world to black
Tattooed all I see, all that I am, all I'll be... yeah...
Uh huh... uh huh... ooh...

I know someday you'll have a beautiful life,
I know you'll be a sun in somebody else's sky,
But why, why, why can't it be, can't it be mine?
Aah... uuh..

Too doo doo too, too doo doo .......

Eddie Vedder explained in the Pearl Jam 20 documentary that this song is about first relationships. "The song is about letting go," said Vedder.

"It's very rare for a relationship to withstand the Earth's gravitational pull and where it's going to take people and how they're going to grow.

I've heard it said that you can't really have a true love unless it was a love unrequited. It's a harsh one, because then your truest one is the one you can't have forever."

Pearl Jam Black is a evergreen song.
