Vishnu - The Everlasting

Today is the birthday of one of the most versatlie actor of the country Dr.Vishnuvardhan.

Vishnuvardhan born on 18 September 1950, in mysore, karnataka in a brahmin family to the H.L. Narayana Rao and Kamakshamma. his parents named him Sampath kumar.

He did his primary schooling in Mysore's Gopalswamy School and his middle school in Bangalore's Kannada Madari School. He undertook High School and his degree in the National College, Basavanagudi, Bangalore.

Vishnuvardhan started his career with the national award winning movie Vamshavruksha directed by Girish Karnad but Naagarahaavu directed by Puttanna Kanagal, in which he played lead role for the first time, made him an overnight star.

In more than Three decades of career he acted in 200 films. Vishnu started to wear the "Kadha" from 1980. He first wore it in the movie Simhajodi and this remained with him. It was given to him at a Gurudwara in Bidar.Vishnuvardhan was married to Kannada actress Bharathi on 27 February 1975 at Kuchalamba Kalyana Mantapa in Bangalore. He had 2 adopted daughters, Keerthi and Chandana.

Vishnuvardhan made 23 movies with director Bhargava. He acted in one episode of the TV serial Malgudi Days, directed by Shankar Nag. Suprabatha created a record in 1988 by receiving 8 different awards and was the first Kannada movie to do so. I think there is no need to talk about his carrear  or his hit movies beacause everybody aware of that.

He acted with the other superstars of the country like legendry Sivaji ganeshan and Rajkumar, Rajinikanth and Vijaykanth, Mammooty, Akshay kumar, Ambharish, Shankarnag, Ravi chandran and others.

My regret  is that. I was eager to see both Kamal hasan amd Vishnuvardhan acting together on screen in a great epic movie titled Marudhanaayagam. which was started in 1997, but unfortunately it is shelved due to financial problems. My dream of seeing my favourite stars together remained only a dream when i heard the news of Vishnu's death. he died on 30 December 2009, due to a massive cardiac arrest, at 2:30 AM at King's Court Hotel in Mysore.

If Marudhanaayagam was made and released as planned,I am sure that  it would have landed the indian cinema on a world stage, creating the new opportunities for both kamal hasan and vishnuvardhan.

Some where in my mind i felt that the talent of this actor is not recognized by the indian governament. he didnt get the recognition he deserved. I hope in the coming days he will be recognized for his contribution to kannada cinema

Vishnuvardhan had done a lot of charity, but without taking the publicity. He will be the everlasting star in the heart of his fans.
